“Hellbound: Hellraiser II” (1988) Movie Review

February 28th, 2011

“Hellbound: Hellraiser II” picks up pretty much where the first one left off. Kirsty is at the hospital, and with her infamous luck, her Doctor Channard is a loon. Kirsty manages to make a new friend “Tiffany,” who is a mute puzzle-solving whiz, and of course, they all end up in hell. Kirsty is there looking for her father, Doc Channard looking for answers, and Tiffany is trying to discover the past, and the viewers of the movie trying to find a story of some sort. Thankfully for all of us, Frank and Julia arrive to spice things up a bit.... READ REST...

“The Exorcist” (1973) Movie Review

“Prince of Darkness” (1987) Movie Review

February 27th, 2011

I don’t remember the first horror movie I ever saw, but I grew up on this genre of film. The first horror movie I can remember seeing was Halloween. This was when horror movies were horror movies, and the initial two Halloween installments were far better than the subsequent sequels, with the original movie being the best directed. So, I looked closer at the box and discovered the Director as being John Carpenter.... READ REST...

The Crazies (2010)

August 18th, 2010

The Crazies is one creepy movie and in many ways if you believe in conspiracy theories, you may even believe in the whole script. The story takes place in a small town in Iowa – Ogden Marsh. The towns water supply gets contaminated (a government test) and next thing you know you lose your mind and start killing your family, friends and whoever crosses your path. The story begins with the locals including Sheriff Dutton watching the baseball game and next thing they see is one of the towns residents waling towards the players with a shotgun. He has a dead look in his eyes and is pretty much there to take life’s. Sheriff Dutton approaches the resident and asks him to put down the weapon. The guy is quiet and next thing you know he gets ready to shoot the Sheriff but the Sheriff gets him before he pulls the trigger.... READ REST...

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

July 28th, 2010

A Nightmare on Elm Street – pretty much one of the best horror/Slasher movies of all time. This was Wes Cravens first of the many to come Freddy Movies. This one started it all and made Freddy into a legend. I remember watching A Nightmare on Elm Street when I was like 5, man oh man I was scared. Now sure I was young but I loved Horror flicks ever since I found out about Horror films. Freddy and the Nightmare on Elm Street series, have always been my top favorite. Although in later years they added a lot of humor to Freddy, hence, why I love the original one the most. A must own DVD for every slasher film lover. And if you really dig slasher films, you should also get Friday the 13th – Original one and make sure to put A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th next to one another in your DVD Library. ... Shaun of the Dead (2004)

July 28th, 2010

Shaun of the Dead is about a man trying to win back his ex. Shaun of the Dead is not really a horror flick, in reality, its more of a comedy IMO. Chances are that you love to see Zombies and Dead things coming back to life? definitely Not a scary flick but if you have some time to kill, worth the laugh. Has some hilarious scenes with cool zombies and really funny script. Overall a cool zombie movie that is totally different than all all the previous Zombie movies. ... READ REST...

The Return of the Living Dead (1985)

July 5th, 2010

Who hasnt seen The Return of the Living Dead? Everyone I know has seen this movie at least twice and at least 50% own it on DVD. This movie is one of my all time favorites when it comes to “classic scary movies”. They setoff a gas accidentally not knowing that the gas has the power to revive the dead. The graveyard being next door the dead start rising and pretty much where the horror begins.
Great classic film to own and watch it at least once a year. This is one of those movies that no matter how advanced Hollywood gets, this type of movies will always be on top of lots of peoples lists! The Return of the Living Dead was a really low-budget film and not a major blockbuster but quickly became a hit and drew a fanbase. I actually loved the Return of the Living dead 2,3,4 and 5 a lot more than the first but since the first started the revolution, I had to post the first one first. ... READ REST...

The Fly (1986)

July 5th, 2010

I remember watching The Fly back in 1986 in a Movie Theater. I did manage to watch the whole movie but as we walked out of the theater, I realized that I am getting dizzy and threw up in the theater. I almost fainted but definitely was out of it for few minutes (according to my older sister) did I tell you I was only 5? Me and my sis loved horror films and when The Fly was out, it was a movie we had to sneak in and watch. Anyhow, I’m not sure if it was the movies affect or something I ate, I do remember being scared to death and and closely watching the movie. I recently was at the store and saw the DVD of The Fly selling for $5 bucks. I had to get it and relive my childhood. I took it home, unwrapped it and slided in my DVD player. I had lots of fun watching this classic film and it was as much fun to watch in 2010 as it was back in 86. The quality isn’t the best but hey, it was made in 1986 so can’t expect anything more. While the movie is definitely a movie that will not scare you to death since its more science fiction, its still a great watch and a must own by all scary movie lovers. ... READ REST...
